...because I called again to explain my situation after not hearing from them for about 10 days. That was towards the end of last week, and the customer service representative listened to my story and said that he will make sure someone calls me back regarding the outstanding amount of Dhs 1200 that magically appeared on my bill.
I'm not going to even think of paying that bill until I get an explanation from someone, somewhere....And I don't care if they cut my phone line...I'll still have my mobile...with good ol' Etisalat :)

Hey Sunshine! Neat blog-
Good luck with Du, the customer service deal here in dxb seems like it's still developing.
I've now had the same problem. Twice. In November I had a bill for some 2,700 as they had stopped debiting my card since March. No explanation. No apology. No Mea Culpa. So I reluctantly paid at their office in cash and filled out a new credit card debit form. Lo and behold this month it happens again - suddenly a bill for 2900. Apparently my account hasn't been debited since the that cash payment and they have no record of the form which I filled out in their office!
Numpties.
I'm now cancelling the land line and TV, putting in a satellite dish even though I'm not allowed to (everyone else wher I live has) and I'll only be taking the internet from them from now on as I have no choice. That now runs at half the previous snail's pace speed since they put it through the censoring proxy. This of course they deny. "The proxy does not afect download speed" they told me - oh yeah!
Hmm ... we don't pay Du bills via credit card... I personally go and pay in cash.
But one problem I've had is with my Internet line... when the ppl in charge were SAHM, my mails from the emirates.net.ae account would go alright... but ever since Du came into being, I cannot send outgoing msgs from Outlook Express. I called twice and both times they said the problem will be fixed. It's been over a year since the last call I made... so ... yeah...
And what about the daily system upgrade which happens to be at peak hours from 20:00 to 23:00.
Every day I would be very lucky trying to get through international calls, and every time they tell me that they are doing a system upgrade, and maybe I should wait for 48 hours and this problem will be solved...
DU Is useless....
D, I've had the same problem with my outlook. Cannot send any outgoing mail....and most times, I can't receive incoming mail either! It just blocks the mail for long periods of time, and then a few weeks later, I get all the mail that's not been delivered to me....
I've called Du about the outgoing server, but was never able to get an answer that solved the issue.
I have the same issue. Sent them an e-mail and got the following response. Although, I think the @ should be replace by a .
So it should read
exmail.emirates.net.ae or exmail.eim.net.ae
---
Thank you for your email dated 17th of May, 2009 with regards to your issue on sending emails. We request you to kindly try the below mentioned outgoing server address:
exmail@emirates.net.ae or exmail@eim.net.ae
In case you would still encounter the same issue, kindly contact your email provider for the correct outgoing server address to be used.
Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact Customer Care on 04 390 5555, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Hi, I've got issues trying to send emails via outlook and I'm in Dubai Marina so am stuck with using Du...
I'm actually using an Etisalat email account for work, which works fine when my laptop is plugged into an Etisalat internet connection (ie at work), but as soon as I come home and plug into Du, I can receive emails OK (via Outlook) I just cannot send! They all get stuck in my outbox.
I've tried the exmail.emirates.net.ae in the outgoing server, but it doesn't work. I've ticked and unticked the box to require authentication. I've called Du - they said it's an Etisalat problem and vice versa... Nobody wants to give me a solution!
Surely there are other people out there with the same problem? Any suggestions?
The most fun part of dealing with DU is their customer service is out source which I believe like HSBC or even Showtime divided in two countries India and Egypt, I personally don’t have any issue by having it out source but the problem comes with you are standing more then 30 min that someone even care to answer that call and you keep on hearing this “Sorry all customer services rep al currently busy” so what is the use of a busy CS , I have been facing the issue since I moves from none freehold to freehold area in Dubai and from the first day always there is something either not working or miss leading information, I hope one day they understand that the value of customer and for their quality of insurance and training purpose send someone their top executive manager to other country to find out with is the meaning of customer services , and I would like to thanks to property market which has been crashed badly and give me the opportunity to move back to none freehold area which I can use the ETSIALAT facilities
Got the same issue... can't send emails from home? tried exmail.emirates.net.ae and no luck, anyone figure this out?
Opps..Trying to google it on what the right "Out going mail server" for DU (SMTP) and found this site, nah! i just called 800 188 business tech support just while ago and again they gave me a complain No. ###########17 im pretty sure my calls are wasted again..tried exmail.emirates.net.ae/exmail.eim.net.ae with no luck...
