Two damning articles about Dubai have appeared in foreign publications over the past 2 days.
First on BBC, then another one in the Independent.
What's going on? Why the sudden Dubai-bashing? Again, nothing that's written in these articles is new, but they're shocking nonetheless.
Oh, and as a side note, when I tried posting the link to the first article on this blog's Twitter account, my post got deleted...TWICE! Guess someone's not happy with the bad rap Dubai's been getting.

I thought The Independent article was excellent. Especially the bits on expat behavior, beliefs, and comments. We left Abu Dhabi in 2002, were there for close to 6 years, and noticed a marked change in the attitude of incoming expats. We were glad to leave. I can only say most of these people seem to be on one major head trip, until reality comes full force down upon them. We once said that Abu Dhabi was "our little secret." That secret got out, and the bottom feeders took over.
